Funkelndes, intensives Rubin mit leichtem Granatschimmer. Vielschichtige und ansprechende Nase, intensiv nach dunkler, reifer Kirsche, etwas Zwetschke, dann auch Noten nach Schiefer und Lakritze. Kraftvoll und mächtig am Gaumen, offenbart sich mit viel dichtmaschigem Tannin, verwoben, viel präsente Frucht, im Finale satter Druck.

Funkelndes Rubin mit feinem Granatrand. Vielschichtige Nase mit Noten nach dunklen Kirschen, Brombeeren, Rosenholz, dahinter leicht erdige Töne, klar und einprägsam. Hat viel pralle Frucht im Ansatz, saftige dunkle Kirsche, Zwetschke, öffnet sich dann mit feinmaschigem Tannin in vielen Schichten, sehr gute Spannung und Länge, elegant und fein definiert, langer Nachhall.

This has incredible energy and depth, with a tight, firm and powerful tannin frame that is present throughout. Full-bodied with a deep core of dark fruit, slate, minerals and iron. Oyster shells, porcini, licorice and some cedar, too. More closed than the 2015. Great wine. Try this after a couple of years. It will last for decades.

The 2016 Casanova di Neri Cerretalto Brunello di Montalcino is an absolutely stunning wine. Cerretalto pushes the limits of perfection each vintage and it has earned the reputaiton as not only one of the finest wines from Montalcino, but in all of Italy. It begins to impress as it offers a gorgeous aromatic profile of dark cherries, dark plums, exotic spices, balsam, black tea, florals and earthy nuances which all take shape beautifully. The palate is just as impressive, as this young Brunello displays a stunning full body with remarkable overall balance. It is impeccably structured and defined, with a striking textural richness that is underlined by a wonderful sense of fresh acidity that carries it into the long finish. This is an utterly thrilling wine that is impressive in its youth, however it is ultimately a wine that is built to last the test of time. I would suspect this will require at least five to ten years of cellaring before it begins to enter its prime drinking window. The Neri Family have once again produced one of the finest wines in the world with this brilliant release.
